Note to Self: Act Like It
Writing on the blog two weeks in a row? Who is this, and what have you done with my lethargic self? :-)
In the spirit of consistency and showing up (for myself), I am attempting some form of consistency with writing on the blog. Not sure what the sequence will look like as time goes on, but let’s go with the flow, shall we?
During the week, I was listening to this conversation on the Magnify podcast and I had an AHA moment during the conversation. The conversation covered a lot of subjects, but the part that struck me most was when the ladies were talking about how as a believer, it is easy to talk about trusting in God and having faith, but in actual sense, we sometimes don’t live like we actually do. As I was listening, in my mind I was like, just call my name, no need to go through corners.
…. but really, doesn’t that happen to us sometimes, where there is a mismatch between our words and our actions.
I mean, if we really do believe that ALL things work together for our good, then why do we fear?
If I believe that I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bears fruit in an out of season, and that my path shines brighter and brighter, then why am I afraid of the future?
As I reflected, I came to the conclusion that if I really believe in God, then I should act like it, and be able to lean into that trust, recklessly!
I know it is a journey, I just hope I can keep putting one foot in front of the other and continue to step out in faith.
If you are also experiencing any form of fear, I hope this encourages you as you go into the new week. You are not alone, and God has got you! Trust in that and lean into that promise.
I saw the below quote on a blog recently and I was hmmmmm…. food for thought:
The blog is giving spiritual today - e be like that sometimes - lol

This week in other news:
I am actually quite impressed with my ability to skip through news I know will upset me or make me cringe. This last week, I kept seeing narratives about a certain pastor who embarrassed a member of his church who was giving a testimony. I knew that watching that video was going to upset my spirit and I was quite resolute about not watching it, even though it crossed my social media feed several times. Talk about protecting your energy….
This video posted by Tunde Onakoya . There’s something about people in the arena that gets me, people who are able to quiet the noise and get things done ... Tunde is one of those people and I really wish him the best as he continues to make impact in the world. Plus he just broke a Guinness world record - kudos to him!
I thoroughly enjoyed this Q&A video by Ebuka and his wife . It was so funny and I could relate to some of their dynamics as a couple. I don’t see a world in which Kay will agree to sit to do this type of video with me, so I was living vicariously through them. I live for mushy things and this definitely sparked some joy. Loved it!
I started watching “The Good Wife” on Apple TV and I have been enjoying it. It is 7 seasons long, and a few episodes in, I could see myself finishing it. Enjoying it so far.
